BUSINESS CONSULTANCY

There’s someone you
shouldn’t completely
rely on working at
the top of your business. You.

You know how to run your business, and you know that better than any outsider. So what value can I add?

I’m typically called in to advise on issues where you wouldn’t expect a business owner to be expert. For example, pivotal one-off decisions, purchases and sales of businesses, raising finance, building boards of directors, and dealing with commercial disputes.

I can also be useful precisely because I’m not part of your groupthink. I often get used as a sounding board when strategic issues are discussed, bringing to the table the experience that comes from seeing multiple businesses in diverse situations across many years. I’ve advised private businesses for more than 40 years, including holding many non-executive directorships across different types of business, from large espresso coffee machine vendors, to tie designers, and from a now-sizeable IFA to one of the UK’s foremost film and TV physical effects houses.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

"We find Howard’s input to the Board very valuable. We only need his input occasionally, but to know that he’s there and to benefit from his experience really adds to the Board’s ability to make good decisions at those times.”

Francesca Howland

CEO, Bimble

“What was impressive was how quickly Howard got to grips with the case. His support assisted immensely in providing the ammunition we needed to win.”

Harold Brako

Finance and Disputes Partner, and Head of Manchester Office, Addleshaw Goddard
(Harold was a Partner at Shoosmiths when he worked with Howard)

“I have seen such a change in myself since starting this journey. Howard has been a fabulous coach.”
